Work Abroad: Apply now for Canada PR from India

If you plan to apply for Canada PR from India, the right time is now as Canada has 1 Million plus job vacancies. Employers require qualified candidates and several of them are seeking overseas nationals.

In a report in early 2022, RBC noted that in almost industries in Canada and across all sectors, companies are hit hard by the historic scarcity of workers.

The study “Labor Shortages in Canada Will Outlast A Recession: Proof Point” highlights the harsh reality for employers in Canada. It has been authored by Economists Nathan Janzen and Claire Fen and Economics Writer Naomi Powell.

The authors note that as of 2022 June, businesses in Canada posted nearly 70% higher job vacancies than the pre-pandemic times. However, these companies were competing for 13% lesser unemployed workers in comparison with those available in 2020 February.

The effect is even harsh: more than 50% of businesses in Canada report that scarcity of workers is hindering their competency to enhance production. It is in comparison with 40% prior to the pandemic and 30% 10 years ago.

In the streets in Canada, it appears as if it is normal business, except for the excess signboards of help wanted that are apparently everywhere. Several entrepreneurs are limiting the hours of work for their companies owing to a shortage of qualified workers.

Statistics Canada in its latest quarterly report for job vacancies stated that firms in Canada were making efforts to fill 997,000 unfilled job openings in the second quarter of 2022. As per available records in Canada, this is the maximum figure of job openings in any quarter for any year.

Job openings increased by 4.5% with 45,000 extra vacancies than in Q1-2022. It was an increase of 42.3% or 296,500 job openings in comparison with Q2-2021, adds Statistics Canada.

The Canadian agency further adds that the rate of job openings was 5.7% in Q2-2022, which was also a record-high rate. It corresponds to the figure of job openings as a proportion of overall demand for labor, the sum of vacant and filled positions.

Employers are offering a high salary to entice workers

After Q1-2020, an increase of 4.2% in demand for labor has surpassed growth in payroll employment. It has increased by 1.7% and resulted in record-high vacancies in jobs. In many sectors, it is a war for bidding as employers try to outbid others for the top employees.

Notwithstanding the higher salaries, employees are nevertheless lagging behind in 2022 as inflation is taking a bigger cut from their purchasing power. Wages per hour in Canada increased by 5.3% in Q2-2022 but inflation also increased by 7.5% in the same time period.

However, there are winners too.

Workers in 5 sectors witnessed a hike in salaries surpassing the rate of inflation. It includes employees in Technical, Scientific, and Professional Services who received a salary hike of an average of 11.3% to an hourly $ 37.05. Workers in Wholesale Trades also witnessed a hike in wages by 10.6% to an hourly $ 26.10.

Employees in the rest of the sectors were not that fortunate. Salaries were lower in the remaining sectors in comparison with inflation including Social Assistance, Healthcare, Construction, and Retail Trade.

The majority of employers in Canada who are finding it tough to fill job vacancies are the ones who have offered pay hikes on par with the inflation rate.

Jobs vacancies increase in 6 Provinces

Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Ontario Provinces witnessed an increase in job openings.

Job vacancies in Ontario Province increased by 6.6% to reach 379, 700. In Nova Scotia, the increase was by 6%, and 22,400 jobs. An increase of 5.6% was recorded by British Columbia with 163, 600 jobs. For Manitoba, it was an increase of 5.2% and 29, 300 jobs while a 4.4% increase was recorded by Alberta with 100,900 jobs.

The Quebec Province recorded a 2.4% increase in job vacancies with 248, 100 jobs. New Brunswick Province witnessed a decrease of 6.1% with 15,200 jobs and for the rest of the provinces, the change was little, noted Statistics Canada.

Employers in Canada can also hire overseas nationals for filling vacant job positions under the Express Entry System. It is an online system that receives immigration applications.

Candidates who fulfill the criteria for eligibility can file an application online known as the EOI - Expression of Interest. This is through any of the 3 federal economic immigration programs or linked PNPs to the Express Entry pool. They must also fulfill the requirement for a minimum IELTS score for Canada Express Entry.

Candidates in the Express Entry pool are ranked over one another through the system based on points known as CRS - Comprehensive Ranking System.

Canada Express Entry Points Calculator 2022

If you've ever considered migrating to Canada and want to learn more about Canadian immigration without IELTS, this piece of content will teach you how to get Canada PR without IELTS.

When you relocate to a new nation and wish to sustain yourself financially, the first thing you should do is find work. One of the greatest methods to acquire a job in Canada is to apply for a permanent residence visa. After obtaining permanent resident status, a candidate can easily find a job that suits their skills to live and work in their chosen province.

There are several immigration programs available, out of which the Express Entry program is the quickest route to obtain a permanent residence visa. Candidates who have developed a profile for this program are evaluated based on a variety of qualifying criteria, including age, education, job experience, adaptability, language competence, and so on. Each component receives points and is rated accordingly through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Employers from various provinces select the highest-ranked profile from the Express Entry pool.

How to get Canada PR without IELTS?

Obtaining Canada PR without IELTS is nearly impossible, but some provincial nominee programs require low IELTS scores for skilled immigrants. Some of them are as follows:

Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

Every Canadian province and territory has its own immigration program, which is referred to as the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The most noticeable point about the Saskatchewan PNP is its low IELTS requirement. If an applicant has a CLB level of at least 4.5, Saskatchewan may nominate them to be a permanent resident of the province. If an applicant has a basic understanding of the English language, they will be able to easily get the minimal IELTS score necessary for the Saskatchewan PNP. For Indians with a lower IELTS score, the International Skilled Worker – In-Demand Occupation category is the best way to apply for SINP.

Some of the main occupations in this program that are best suited for Indians are electronic service technicians, managers in agriculture, manufacturing managers, public service managers, agricultural service contractors, agricultural representatives, consultants, and specialists.

Saskatchewan PNP Eligibility criteria:

There is no requirement to have a pre-employment offer from a Saskatchewan company. All you need is to have a high level of expertise in a high-demand career in the province. Other eligibility criteria are as given below:

  • Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), which is the initial step toward applying for the SINP.
  • A minimum of 60 points out of a possible 100 on the SINP point evaluation grid is required.
  • Post-secondary education, an apprenticeship, or training must have been completed.
  • A diploma, certificate, or degree is required (if studying outside of Canada, submit an academic credential assessment report).
  • At least one year of full-time work experience in a high-skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B) is required, which is not on the list of prohibited occupations.
  • Please include a settlement plan as well as proof of settlement money.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

Manitoba offers a provincial nomination scheme for eligible immigrants who can live and work in the province and contribute to the province's economic development. Manitoba PNP, like SINP, is known as the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) and has minimal IELTS score criteria. Manitoba requires only 4 bands in each module of the IELTS exam to assess an applicant for permanent residency. One of the key requirements of this method is that the applicant's family member must live in the province and be ready to sponsor the candidate for permanent residency in the province. In addition, priority is given to candidates who have work experience in one of the occupations in demand.

Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)

The Atlantic Immigration Program is a relatively new immigration program that permits interested people to live as permanent residents in the Atlantic area of Canada, which consists of four provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland. The initiative enables firms in the Atlantic to hire skilled applicants for open positions. Before applying for this program, the individual must have a job offer and that too with a low IELTS requirement of 4 or better.

Another possibility is that you can apply for a PR visa with a low IELTS score. When applying as a couple, choose the one with the higher IELTS score as the main candidate. The second applicant's IELTS score will be ignored as long as the main applicant's IELTS score reaches the minimum needed IELTS score.

Another option for moving to Canada is to apply for a Canadian work permit and later get permanent status.

Thousands of foreigners apply for an LMIA-based visa and are eager to work in Canada for a limited time. The visa applicant must have a job offer from a Canadian employer and a positive LMIA from the ISDC in order to work temporarily in Canada. Employers must demonstrate that the jobs produced for qualified immigrants would assist the province to enhance and grow from the existing situation.

In addition, there are two official languages in Canada: English and French. If you are fluent in French, you may simply relocate to Canada without taking IELTS.

Do you have a good command of the French language?

We have wonderful news for you if you speak French. You will be able to relocate to Canada much more effortlessly because of your language abilities. The IRCC has stated that new modifications to the Express Entry CRS system would give French applicants extra language points. Candidates who are fluent in French will receive an additional 25 points, up from 15 points. The new modifications are intended to foster and promote French-speaking communities outside of Quebec. "We will continue to recruit French-speaking immigrants in order to secure the growth of French-speaking minority populations," declared the immigration minister.
